Mira Shade is an NPC (Non-Player Character) guardian/final boss of the Dark Tower in Prodigy Math Game and one of the most powerful wizards in the game.

Appearance[]

Primary Sprite[]

Mira wears the same set as she gives the players, but is stubbed with crystals. She has light blue hair, with bangs that hang over her eyes, which are purple in the sprites but appear red in her ultimate form. She is normally shown with her hands in her pockets and seems to be a strong teen.

Mira's Ultimate Form[]

Mira Shade appears to be in front of a throne of many crystals. The crystals vary in many shapes and sizes. Some look like ice, with light purple and blue, while others have light blue mandalas or magenta swirly crystals. The crystal throne has many details causing her to resemble a crystal fairy.

Personality[]

She also seeks friends based on their power, meaning she will prefer someone capable of lifting a mountain as a friend rather than someone kind and thoughtful. This is proven by her reaction when the player defeats her. She shows some humility after the player defeats her but still retains her haughty personality.

Role[]

She talks to the player when the player approaches the Dark Tower (although she will not speak to the player if the player is a non-member and has completed the 5-floor trial) and as the player conquers it. Typically, every 10 levels, the player gets 500 coins from her, and she tells the player that "[they] are doing great". All the monsters in the Dark Tower are thought to be all of Mira's own pets. If the player gets to the top of the Dark Tower, the player will fight her in her ultimate form (as she is the powerful "wizard" at the top). She lies that someone else is at the top of the tower. Once the player has completed the Dark Tower, the player will not be able to go back inside the tower ever again.

(When the player approaches her for the first time)

“Hello there, young one…welcome to the Dark Tower.”

“The name’s Mira, and this tower was once the home to a powerful wizard, who built it to test the power of other wizards.”

"It is said that whoever can conquer every floor and make it to the top is a true wizard."

"But there is a catch! The battles here are harder, and once you leave the tower, you must start over."

"However, if you defeat the opponents on every 5th floor, you can return to that floor if you leave."

"Do you want to start climbing the tower from floor 1?"

(On 2 boss floors, after winning the battle)

"Hey, you're doing great! Here's a little reward..."

(On floor 5)

"Here's your first boss... there is one on every fifth floor. Let's see how well you do!"

(On floor 10)

"The wizard of this tower was once a student at the Academy, just like you..."

"But the wizard was MUCH stronger! WAAAAAY stronger!"

(On floor 15)

"The wizard practiced alone, not wanting any help from the other Academy students."

"He didn't want to waste time on them - they would only hold him back."

(On floor 20)

"So the wizard left the Academy a long long time ago...to train alone."

"He came here and built this tower using his awesome power! What a guy!"

(On floor 25)

"You made it to floor 25! One quarter of the way there...not bad, but not great."

(On floor 30)

"For years and years the wizard trained here alone. He mastered all the elements, learned all the spells"

"...But the wizard didn't need any help from the dumb academy to do it!"

(On floor 35)

"One day, the wizard decided he was done training - he was already the best wizard ever!"

"So he decided to challenge the other wizards at the Academy, to prove he was the best."

(On floor 40)

"No wizard could match him, and so the wizard created this super-cool test to challenge wizards instead!"

"He called it the 'Really Really Hard Test of Trials'!"

(On floor 45)

"For this test, the wizard summoned the strongest monsters possible to challenge wizards at each floor."

"These monsters are the bosses of this tower. Here's another one now!"

(On floor 50)

"Floor 50 already.... you've come all this way to challenge the strongest, have you?"

"If so, then you must first challenge the father of all dragons... Grandoff!"

(On floor 55)

"You are certainly something special... are you sure you're from the Academy?"

(On floor 60)

"The test you are on now... this is the very same test created by the wizard himself."

"Many wizards from the Academy tried it, but they ALL failed!"

(On floor 65)

"For each new student that tried the test and failed, the wizard added a new floor... and a new challenge."

"When no more floors could be added, the wizard made the challenges harder and harder."

(On floor 70)

"Eventually, it became obvious that no wizards would be able to climb the tower."

"So the legendary wizard disappeared, and the tower began to crumble."

(On floor 75)

"The wizard has not been seen since, but students from the Academy still try to climb the tower."

"He hoped that someday a student would be strong enough to challenge him, and so he would return to accept the challenge."

(On floor 80)

"Things have been easy up until now... I think it's time to step things up!"

(On floor 85)

"You're still going? I'm... impressed!"

(On floor 90)

"This can't be... no wizards have ever made it this far..."

"...Who are you?"

(On floor 95)

"No... you will NOT make it to the top of this tower!"

(On floor 100, before you battle her)

"Astounding. You have made it to the top of my tower..."

"And so you have earned the greatest of rewards... you must challenge the legendary wizard herself..."

"ME! THE GREAT AND POWERFUL MIRA SHADE!"

"HAHAHA! It was me all along! You should see the look on your face right now!"

"Come, wizard! It's time for you to face the strongest wizard of all time!"

(On floor 100, after you beat her)

"Wow... You beat me... I'm speechless...

"I can't believe I lost to a wizard from the Academy... I thought I was the strongest!"

"Well then! It looks like I was wrong about you... and about the Academy! You really are the best of the best!"

"Here... please accept this new robe as a gift from me. And tell all your friends to come here as well!"

"I'd love to meet as many wizards as possible... especially if they're as strong as you!"

(After beating her and about to leave)

"If you leave, you won't be able to come back ever again!"

(After beating Mira Shade and coming back to the tower at a later point)

"Well hello there! If it isn't the fancy-pants wizard!"

"You already beat my tower...but come back someday... I may have more challenges for you!"

Trivia[]

  • Mira was most notable for having possessed thirty-four known spells in her spell pool before the September 2018 and the April 2023 combat updates. These include the main five spells of each of the five main elements, Shadow Shock, Royal Roar, Starbit Blast, Prism Blast, and Falling Star Smash. Even though she was a wizard originally from the Academy, she can use Shadow Shadow element spells.
  • One of her attack animations is throwing her arms up, just like Saplette, Arboreal, and Vinequeen's old attack animations.
  • In her updated sprite, her eyes are now purple instead of red. Her hood also has three blue opals attached, replacing the three white circles that used to be there. On top of that, her newer sprites represent her personality and emotions better.
  • When the player reaches floor 70, she says "So the legendary wizard disappeared, and the tower began to crumble". Stones will crumble in the top left corner of the tower. The Easter Egg animation is short, and only plays once.
  • She is one of the few Wizard NPCs with a full name. Oddly enough, wizards' last names are made up of two parts, but her last name is one word, "Shade". This may be an alias.
  • She is one of five NPC wizards to be battled in the Dark Tower, the other 4 being Sprout, Frozine, Thundane, and the mirror image of the player themself.
  • Mira's other five wizards were Charcole and Pounce but due to an update, they are no longer in the Dark Tower.
  • She is the main boss of the Dark Tower and is apparently at level 100. When trying to defeat her she gets stronger.
  • It is possible to defeat her in a single All-Out Attack, but this does not always work.
  • Her last name; Shade, could be a reference to the monster Shade.
  • According to a Q&A answer by Steve Burgen, Mira was the first NPC to get a voice, backstory, and overall any kind of development.
  • Her Talk Sprites have gotten remodeled, but her sprite and ultimate form are still identical to her old talk sprites.
  • Mira Shade states in a quote that she may have more challenges for the player someday, but this has never been true.
